Rental Terms & Conditions
These terms provide a general summary of L & B Travel Trailer Rentals’ rental policies. Every direct rental is subject to a completed booking confirmation and signed rental agreement.
Reservations and payment
A reservation payment equal to 25% of the rental charges is required to confirm a direct booking. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the rental begins.
Bookings made within 30 days of the rental date require payment in full when confirmed.
Direct payments are accepted by Interac e-Transfer. Payment is considered received only after it has been confirmed in L & B’s bank account.
Reservations made through a third-party rental platform must be paid through that platform and are also subject to the platform’s applicable terms, fees, cancellation policy and protection requirements.
Refundable security deposit
Direct bookings require a separate refundable security deposit:
- Jayco Qwest 10: $500
- Rockwood Roo 21DK: $750
The deposit must be received no later than three days before delivery or pickup. It will ordinarily be returned by e-transfer within seven business days after the trailer has been returned and inspected.
Reasonable deductions may be made for damage, missing equipment, excessive cleaning, prohibited smoking, pet-related cleaning or damage, toilet-service charges, late return and other amounts payable under the rental agreement.
The security deposit does not limit the Renter’s responsibility for costs exceeding the deposit.
Minimum rental
A minimum rental period of two nights normally applies.
Cancellation policy
A 24-hour cancellation grace period applies when a direct booking is made more than seven days before the rental begins.
After the grace period:
- More than 30 days before the rental: 100% refund of rental charges
- Between 8 and 30 days before the rental: 50% refund of rental charges
- Seven days or fewer before the rental: no refund of rental charges
Unused delivery charges, add-on charges and refundable security deposits will be returned.
No refund is normally provided for no-shows, late arrivals, unused rental time or early returns.
Bookings completed through a third-party platform are governed by the cancellation policy shown in that booking.
Exceptional circumstances
We understand that unexpected situations arise. L & B may, at its reasonable discretion, offer rescheduling, a booking credit, a refund, a reduced fee or another accommodation where circumstances warrant.
An exception made in one situation does not guarantee the same outcome in another situation.
Delivery
Delivery charges are based on the one-way distance from Collingwood, Ontario, and are charged once for the complete delivery service:
- Rockwood Roo 21DK: $4 per kilometre
- Jayco Qwest 10: $2 per kilometre
Delivery includes placement, setup, pickup and takedown under ordinary conditions.
The Renter is responsible for reserving a suitable campsite and providing accurate access and site information. L & B may refuse delivery or placement where the site or access conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.
The Rockwood Roo 21DK is delivery-only.
Jayco towing option
The Jayco Qwest 10 may be towed only with L & B’s prior written approval.
Approved drivers must be at least 25 years old, hold a valid driver’s licence, have suitable towing experience and use an adequately rated, insured and properly equipped tow vehicle.
L & B may require proof of insurance and additional driver or vehicle information. We may refuse to release the trailer if the driver, vehicle, hitch or equipment is unsuitable.
Return time
The trailer must be returned, or made available for pickup, at the agreed time.
A one-hour grace period applies for minor unavoidable delays. After that period, a charge of $25 per additional hour may apply, up to the applicable nightly rental rate, plus reasonable costs caused by the delay.
Please contact us as soon as you anticipate being late.
Cleaning and toilet service
Normal post-rental cleaning is included. Renters must remove garbage and personal belongings, wash used dishes and leave the trailer reasonably tidy.
Excessive cleaning may be charged at a minimum of $100 or the reasonable documented cost when greater.
The Jayco’s portable toilet must be emptied and rinsed before return unless another arrangement has been approved. A $75 service charge may apply otherwise.
L & B handles ordinary holding-tank service for delivered Rockwood rentals.
Smoking and pets
Smoking, vaping and cannabis use are prohibited inside the trailers.
Pets require prior written approval. A $25 pet charge per rental may apply. Renters are responsible for pet-related damage, odours and additional cleaning.
Damage and trailer condition
Departure and return condition reports, photographs or videos may be used to document the trailer and included equipment.
The Renter is responsible for damage or loss occurring during the rental, excluding ordinary wear and tear, documented pre-existing damage and defects or damage caused by L & B’s negligence.
Any damage, accident, malfunction or unsafe condition must be reported promptly. Repairs must not be authorized without L & B’s approval except where immediately necessary to prevent injury or further damage.
Weather and campground conditions
Ordinary weather and outdoor conditions do not automatically qualify for a refund.
If an official closure, evacuation order, travel restriction or other condition prevents safe delivery or use, L & B may offer rescheduling, a booking credit or a refund for services that cannot be provided.
Safe and proper use
Renters must follow all operating and safety instructions and comply with campground rules and applicable laws.
Delivered trailers must not be moved after L & B has positioned and stabilized them. Renters must not climb on the roof, alter the trailer, tamper with its systems or allow an unauthorized person to tow it.
Agreement and insurance
These website terms are a policy summary and do not replace the signed rental agreement or any applicable third-party platform terms.
Specific requirements may vary depending on the trailer, rental method, destination and insurance requirements. Nothing in these terms limits rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be waived.
